With the rapid development of global economic integration and international trade, the competition among ports has gradually evolved into the competition among the global shipping network and port ecosystem. Relying on modern high and new technology, building a technology intensive and knowledge intensive smart port has become the inevitable direction and choice for the development of modern ports in the 21st century. Smart port does not simply apply technologies, but reconstructs a multi boundary and systematic port ecosystem through model change and concept innovation, so as to realize intelligent and reliable port operation, efficient organization and supply chain cooperation, open business innovation, convenient and reliable customer experience.
Smart port is based on modern infrastructure and equipment, with the deep integration of new generation of information technologies such as cloud computing, big data, internet of things, mobile internet and intelligent control with port business as the core, driven by the innovation of port transportation organization services, and guaranteed by perfect systems, laws and regulations, standards and development policies. It is a new modern port business form that can realize the optimal allocation of port resources at a higher level, meet the requirements of multi-level, agile and high-quality port transportation services at a higher level, and has the distinctive characteristics of production intelligence, management wisdom, service flexibility and strong guarantee.
